Tayto win The Queen Mother 2017
It was a very convincing 8.5 – 5 win for Tayto in the Queen Mother Trophy final on Ivy Lodge. They may have been the under-dog going into the 12 goal final with an 11 goal team coming up against a 12 goal Indubitable; especially as Indubitable stormed through their semi-final clash with the previously, seemingly-unbeatable Foxcote team, whilst Tayto only snuck in to the finals with a half goal victory over Confido.

Foxcote win The Jerudong 2017
Team Foxcote beat Team CPPC 5 - 4 to take the Jerudong Trophy for 2017 in a great game and a fabulous day in memory of The Hon Mark Vestey. Off the field thousands were raised for HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH Prince Harry’s chosen charities. Centre Point, Walking With the Wounded and The Household Cavalry Foundation were the beneficiary charities this year.

Park Place take the Apsley Cup 2017
The Festival of Polo continues at Cirencester Park Polo Club with some more fantastic polo in the final stages of The Apsley Cup 18 Goal. Bardon Polo got within half a goal of doing the Warwickshire- Apsley Cup double, but Park Place stopped them in their tracks to take the top spot and lift the silver trophy, 6 - 5.5 the final score.

Bardon take the Warwickshire by Storm
There was no rain to mar the enjoyment of the Bledisloe Warwickshire Cup this year, as El Remanso and Bardon went head to head on an irrigated Ivy Lodge.  It was Martin Valent who put the first goal on the board for Bardon, in a slightly messy chukka in which neither team had yet found rhythm,  Juan Gris Zavaleta and Alec White also found the posts,  the first ended 2-1 to Bardon.

It is with great sadness that we must inform you that Mr John Henderson of The Round House in Cirencester Park passed away peacefully at his care home in Lechlade.

The Hon. Mark Vestey 16 April 1943 - 5 November 2016
It was with a very heavy heart and deepest sadness that we informed CPPC members on Saturday 5th November that Mark Vestey had died suddenly in the night. Mark was a truly remarkable person and a much treasured friend and supporter of the club. He will be very sorely missed by so many and our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this very sad time.

Lodge Service Win The Gouldsmith Bowl Convincingly
CANI and Lodge Service were the two teams to go up against one another in the first final of the last day of the season. Lodge Service were quick to take the lead and pull ahead in front of CANI with two goals in the first chukka, and followed on by another in the second. At half time CANI were yet to put anything up on the scoreboard making the score 3 ~ 0 going into the third.

Beaufort Black Hound eventually lifted the Cheltenham Cup 12 Goal trophy following a very tough fight from Maoz Dulce and a close game with an extra chukka needed to determine the final result 5 - 4.

Poulton/Balvanera win County Cup 2016 to put them in the hunt for Victor Ludorum 12 Goal Top Spot
Finally, summer has arrived. Ivy Lodge was bathed in warmth, and parasols were up to protect against the sun rather than to ward off rain.  The Tayto vs Poulton/Balvanera showdown had a full grandstand, and picnickers were able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and watch some great polo.

Sunday saw Neptune come out on the top of the seven teams competing for the Humphrey Guinness Plate, in what has been a thrilling tournament from start to finish. A new addition to the 2016 fixtures list, this ten goal tournament has proved highly competitive with thrilling polo throughout and without a doubt some of the most exciting games of the season for spectators.

The crowds were lined thick along Peddington for the Apsley Cup and were treated to a fast and furious final which saw the Bears claim the silver again, to add to the Warwickshire Cup from just the week before.

England Reign Supreme in the Ladies International High Goal Final
It was a historic day for Cirencester on Sunday as the Club was once again leading the way for ladies polo in the UK hosting an England V Argentina High Goal Ladies International game on Ivy Lodge, following on after the Bledisloe Warwickshire Cup Final. Argentina started with the upper hand and the game was very close, but it was home side England who were victorious, 5 - 3 1/2 the final score.

Black Bears Victorious in the Bledisloe Warwickshire Cup
Despite a grey, wet day, the crowds and picnickers were undeterred and in true British fashion did not let the weather dampen spirits for the Bledisloe Warwickshire Cup Final. Black Bears already had a goal in hand with a handicap start and were strong at the beginning of the first with a goal from John Paul Clarkin. El Remanso replied with a goal of their own but Max Charlton gave Black Bears a comfortable 3-1 lead by the end of the first chukka.

Last weekend saw the first Academy Tournament of the 2016 season get off to a good start.
Foxcote took the first success of the tournament, winning 12 – 5 1/2 against Bad As, securing their place in the final.  Monte Grainger proved himself a valuable team member scoring the vast majority of the Foxcote goals.

Digging underway for new irrigation reservoir at Cirencester

Four acre lake to provide water for all fields in the main park in 2016


Cirencester Park Polo Club are delighted to announce that the long awaited irrigation project is now well underway and on track to be in use in the 2016 season. The diggers moved in during the first week of January to dig a four acre reservoir to hold four million gallons of water and provide a state-of-the-art irrigation system.

Stobart defeated Goose Creek 6.5 - 6 in heavy rain and regained the Cirencester International Ladies Tournament on Ivy Lodge. A very unique chukka was played at Cirencester - Zonkey Pink V Zonkey Blue on Meadow saw players in monkey onsies riding pink and blue zebras! Cowdray and Cirencester to Host 2015 Ladies Tournaments at 12 – 18 Goal Ladies Handicap level
The Hurlingham Polo Association have today published the UK Ladies Handicaps list, which will come into effect for the 2015 season, beginning in April.
